Cross Country
Congratulations to all the students who represented Parkview at the Cross Country Meet held last week at Milliken Mills Park. It took quite the effort of many teachers and parents to make this event a success. Thank you to the teachers who accompanied our students on the field, especially Mr. Hewson for his leadership & Coach Tracy Burton for her dedication. Good luck to all finalists who will compete in the area meet on October 15, 2015.
Bill Crothers Secondary School Grade 8 Parent & Student Information
Bill Crothers Secondary School (BCSS) is a system-wide school with a focus on healthy active living and sport. The school is open for Grade 9 to 12 students. Students and parents from across the region are invited to attend an information evening. Information will be shared regarding the vision, mission, schedule, programs, the transfer policy, and application process.
All information sessions will occur at Bill Crothers Secondary School, 44 Main Street, Unionville, Ontario, L3R 2E4 from 7 – 8:30 in the cafeteria.
Information Night for Parkview Students: Tuesday October 13, 2015
Due to building capacity regulations, we request that only students and parents interested in attending BCSS for the school year 2016 – 2017, attend one of these evening. Parking is limited so we ask that parents carpool or park at the GO Station. Markham By-law officers regularly enforce the parking regulations on school property, so please abide by the posted parking regulations. More information attached here.
School Cash Online account
Last week we sent home a notice explaining how you can set up your School Cash Online account. There is a copy of this note attached to this message too. Starting later this month you will be able to order lunches and pay for them completely online. To take advantage of this system, you must register using the student number that we have attached to your child’s agenda, book bag or communication tool. A letter is attached here.
As Hot Lunches are not starting right away, we are asking that parents sign up for this service (it is approved by the YRDSB) so that we can process your payments for hot lunches, field trips and other school initiatives. In an effort to be eco friendly and paperless, this will be the only way that you can order hot lunches in advance.
Once registered, your child’s account will follow them throughout the YRDSB from grade to grade and from elementary to secondary school.
We are excited to be one of the first schools in the YRDSB providing this heightened level of convenience to our families.
Kids Kitchen
As many families are aware, Kid’s Kitchen is available to Parkview students. For more information please visit their website http://www.kidskitchen.ca. They are also having a special meal for Thanksgiving, please see flyer here and some more updates for October here.
Parkview Picture Day
Picture day is coming this year on Thursday October 22. This year we are using Life Touch School Portraits and are excited in the improved quality and service they will provide. Please see flyer here.
