Parkview BBQ Planning Committee
If you are interested in helping with the organization of the annual BBQ Fun Fair, please feel free to attend the BBQ committee meetings on the following dates. The meeting time is 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm in the school library. The BBQ will be held on Wednesday, June 8th, 2016, 3:15 pm to 6 pm at the school. If you would like to help and cannot attend the meeting, please email juliesellery@rogers.com

School Board Policies and Procedures
Policies and procedures govern the operation of the Board and our school. To ensure they remain current, the Board reviews policies and procedures on a regular cycle. The Board is seeking feedback from staff and community members, including parents/guardians, is an important part of the review process.
All policies available for comment are sent to school council chairs, and are posted on the Board website along with information about how to provide feedback. The policies currently available for comment include:
• Student Accommodation Review (comments due by April 25)
• Anaphylactic Reactions (comments due by August 25)
• Respectful Workplace and Learning Environment (comments due by August
25)
• Environmental Responsibility (comments due by January 2, 2017)
• Appointment of Community Members to Board Committees (comments due
by January 2, 2017)

Grade 8 Updates
Tuesday, March 29th – Parent Grad meeting in the school library at 7:00pm
Wednesday, March 30 – Grade 8 Photo’s taken
Thursday, April 1st – Final payment of $100.00 due for Grad Trip.
Community Safety Village
Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. James class will be going to York Region Community Safety Village to learn about community helpers as well as water and fire safety. We will be back at Parkview in time for lunch!
Reuse/Recycle Book Exchange
Parkview’s Annual Reuse/Recycle Book Exchange starts tomorrow! Students can start to bring in gently used school-aged books or kids magazines between Tuesday March 29 and Friday April 1. Participating students will have an opportunity to chose from the donations between April 5 and 8th. Details will be sent home this week with students.
Preparations have begun for Parkview’s Annual Upcycle Your Recycling Contest! Using recycled materials, classes are encouraged to create something useful for their class or Parkview. Class submissions are due April 19.
