Parkview continues to achieve above Board and Provincial averages in EQAO.  We want all students to be successful and do their best.  Parkview has two math coaches this year as well as professional development for teachers in Mathematics.  Both Lisa and Karl will also be participating in three days of math training that is offered by YRDSB for all administrators.

 

When determining the level of student achievement “Teachers use a variety of assessment strategies to elicit information about student learning. These strategies should be triangulated to include observation, student-teacher conversations, and student products.” Growing Success 2010 p.34.  This provides students with a variety of ways to show their learning and demonstrate a deeper understanding of concepts.

Students eligible for Grade 9 and Grade 10 in September 2017 may apply.

Assessment Dates

Saturday, November 19 or Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Admission to the York Region District School Board IB Programs includes an assessment. At the time of application, students will select to write in either the a.m. or p.m. on Saturday, November 19 or in the evening on Tuesday, November 22.

There is a $35 fee to apply to this program.

Arts Unionville

 Arts Unionville is a YRDSB specialty high school Arts program offered at Unionville High School to artistically talented grade 8 students residing within Arts Unionville boundaries who will be entering high school in September 2017.

All York Region grade 8 students (no boundary limitations) are eligible to apply to the Piano Programs.  York Region grade 8 students who reside within Arts Unionville, Arts Huron Heights, and Arts Westmount boundaries are eligible to apply for the Strings Programs.
