EARTH DAY – PARKVIEW RECYCLES!
Earth Day Celebrations continue at Parkview! Everyone can join in! It’s time to Spring clean and make your donations to our recycling programs!
BAG2SCHOOL – This program is about donating used clothing, belts, shoes, boots, purses, bedding, towels, stuffed animals, etc. Any textiles are welcome. Use any bags to bring in your donations. Drop off your bags to the school between April 18-21.
RECYCLE ELECTRONICS – Do you have old key boards, cables, TV’s, speakers, printers, VCR’s, DVD players, monitors, photo copiers, ink & toner cartridges etc? Does your office have anything that needs to be recycled? Bring them to Parkview on April 22 between 9:00-12:00. The more you bring the more money the school raises! The more space you will have too!
BATTERIES – Used batteries are being collected in the school lobby until April 21.
BOTTLES – In support of the Grade 8 Graduation, the parent grad committee will be collecting empty wine/beer/cooler bottles, beer/cooler cans and tetra packs on April 22 in the school parking lot from 9:00-12:00. Thanks for your support!

International Day of Pink
April 12, 2017 is the International Day of Pink. It is a day when communities across Canada and across the world unite to celebrate diversity and raise awareness about the need to stop homophobia, transphobia, discrimination and all forms of bullying. On this annual day in April, individuals wear pink to show respect for diversity and to demonstrate support for learning and working environments which are safe and inclusive of people from all different backgrounds.
Planning for Next Year
It is that time of the year again… the planning for next year has begun which includes the consideration of student class assignments. In May, our teachers spend a fair amount of time making carefully considered decisions regarding appropriate class placements for our students. We realize that parental input can be valuable to this process too.
To that end, we would ask that any requests regarding student placements be descriptive in nature. Please describe your child’s learning style and describe any learning environment that you feel would suit your child best. Requests for specific teachers will not be considered. This information should be emailed to Lisa Dilworth at firstname.lastname@example.org on or before April 28th, 2017. Student placement meetings will be occurring the first week of May so unfortunately, late requests cannot be accepted.
