EARTH DAY – PARKVIEW RECYCLES – THANK YOU!!
Many, many thanks to everyone who donated textiles & clothing, electronics, batteries and bottles to our Earth Day Recycling Celebration Day this past Sat April 22! Your support is appreciated! The Earth is healthier and Parkview has made funds to support various school activities including Grade 8 Graduation. Special thanks to the volunteers who made this great event possible!
Earth Day Spirit Day – April 25th
Students are encouraged to wear green and/or blue to celebrate and recognize Earth Day. K to Grade 3 students will have their assembly at 8:40 am and grade 4 to 8 students will have their assembly at 9:30 am.
Grade 8 Student Visit to Unionville High School – April 26th 8:30 am
Grade 8 students that will be attending Unionville High School in September will beattending UHS for the morning (students will arrange their own transportation to UHS in the morning) and all students will walk together back to Parkview for lunchtime. The students will engage in a number of activities to discover what grade 9 will be like. Students not attending UHS will be at Parkview during this time.
Parkview BBQ and Fun Fair Committee meeting – new time – Wednesday April 26th at 12:30 pm

On behalf of school council we would like to invite you to an exciting evening of math learning with Dr. Cathy Fosnot on Wednesday April 26 2017 at7PM.
Dr. Fosnot is a world renown math educator and has created many of the resources we use in our school for learning mathematics.
At this free event, she will engage parents in math problems and explain how math is taught in schools today. and give you tips and strategies to help your child with mathematics at home.
We are looking forward to seeing you there…free babysitting will be provided.

Welcome to Kindergarten Thursday April 27th – 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. –
Welcome to Kindergarten event for all students and parents that will be entering Junior Kindergarten at Parkview in September 2017 (Taking place in the gym, library and FDK classrooms – Room 128, 129 and 130).
Save the Date: Thursday May 11th
On Thursday, May 11th Parkview will be celebrating an evening of the Arts. Please save this date so that your family can attend. There will be art displays, performances, and presentations throughout the evening, and throughout the school. All families are invited to attend this celebration. The event will begin at 6:30 pm. Please bring your families to see the amazing artwork and watch the performances. Each class will be participating in different ways (some through art displays, and some through live performances). More details about times of performances and location of displays will be shared as we get closer to Arts Night. The theme for the evening will be, “Recognizing the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation”.
Grade 8 Graduation at Bill Crothers Secondary School on June 19th – more details to come
Trips and Kid’s Kitchen/Hot Lunches
This is a reminder to parents that if your child is going on a field trip, they will not be receiving hot lunches or Kid’s Kitchen on the day of the trip. Children will need to bring their own lunches. Lunches will be available for pick-up when children return.
