Come join us for Parkview’s Meet and Greet Evening which will take place on Thursday, October 11th. Visit classrooms, meet our teachers, EA’s, DECE’s, and learn about your child’s experience at school. Parkview staff will be available to meet between 6:30-7:30pm. The BOOK FAIR will be available in the library from 6:00-8:00pm. Please visit the School Council table & local community information booths such as Markham Public Library, Ontario Early Years, SEPT in YRDSB which will be set up in the front foyer from 6:00-6:25pm.

RedCross Babysitting – This is certificate course being offered for interested Grade 6/7/8 students on October 22nd at Parkview PS. For more information, feel free to contact the school office or check your emails, as flyers with payment and registration information have been shared.

SMILE!! Picture day is coming on Wednesday, October 24.

We are ready to begin our first round of pizza orders. Pizza lunches will take place on Thursday this year. This year the pizza will be provided by My Little Pizzeria. Your child‛s order will include cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza made with whole wheat crust and an apple juice box. All of the funds raised will be used to purchase resources and materials for our school. The first round of pizza will begin on October 18th and end on December 20th for a total of 10 weeks. Parkview is pleased to offer a Pasta hot lunch option on TUESDAYS for $5.50. The pasta will be provided by Mothers Deli. All of the funds raised will be used to purchase resources and materials for our school. The first round of pasta will begin on Tuesday, October 16th and end on Tuesday, December 18th for a total of 10 weeks at a total cost of $55.00. Please visit SchoolCashOnline to make your order.

Please join us for our first School Council Fundraiser. It will take place at Chapters, 3175 Highway 7 on November 15th, 2018 from 6-9pm. 20% of the total proceeds will go back to our Parkview students for learning materials! Come out & meet Parkview families

In recognition of Islamic Heritage Month, parents/guardians with their children grades K to 12 are invited to participate in a free Art History Workshop facilitated by the Aga Khan Museum. This workshop will consist of an introduction to the Aga Khan Museum and an understanding of the diversity and pluralism in Islam through the museum collection. Families will explore patterns from the art and architectures of the museum and Islamic artifacts. Each participant will create and take home their own tile. York Region parents/guardians can register at any of the school locations. Registration will be confirmed via email from Inclusive School and Community Services

In November 2018, the York Region District School Board will invite all students to participate in the Every Student Counts Survey (ESCS). The purpose of this census survey is to better understand YRDSB’s diverse student population as well as students’ experiences in school and outside of school. In November, a school letter will be sent home (to families of students in grades 1-6) with a link to the online survey along with instructions. Our students in Grades 7&8 will be invited to complete the survey online during class time.
