Parkview Happenings…

Thank you to our families that joined us for our Parkview Pride assembly last week!

A reminder from School Council: Tuesday, April 23rd morning is the last opportunity to drop off items supporting our Bag2School Used Clothing Collection Fundraiser. Please ensure you drop off any final donations before the scheduled 9:00am pickup. Please consider donating unwanted men’s, women’s and children’s clothing items including footwear, outwear, towels, linens, belts, handbags and backpacks to help keep them out of the landfill while raising money for our school. Items can be brought into Parkview in any bag, box or bin you have at home. The more items we collect, the more money we raise!

Intermediate Music Night will be on April 23rd. Communication was sent out to Intermediate families regarding tickets.

We would like to thank our families for supporting the School Council Annual BBQ Fun Fair. Donation letters went out to each class last week. We ask that all donations be brought to school by Friday, May 3rd. Thank you!

Parent Tea – May 3rd @ 9-10am. The focus of this session with be EQAO in which an Education Officer from EQAO will share information. Please RSVP if you are planning on attending. We look forward to seeing you there!

Parkview’s Welcome to Kindergarten, for our new JK students, will be held on Thursday, May 9th @ 4:30pm – 5:30pm. We look forward to meeting our youngest Panthers and parents then!

On Monday, May 6th, staff from Station Ski & Ride will be at Parkview from 3:00 to 4:30 to check the safety of our students’ bikes, for FREE! They will make minor adjustments if needed, check the fit of your child’s helmet and make recommendations if their bike needs additional care to make it safe. We will also be accepting any unwanted bikes of all sizes for donation. If you have a bike you are no longer using, please drop if off at the bike check-up. We remind all families that children must be supervised by an adult at all times during this event.

Safety Reminders: (1) Students should not arrive at school earlier then 8:15am as teacher supervision begins at 8:15am. (2) Any changes to end of day dismissal must be provided to the office and classroom teacher in writing. (3) The school parking lot is for staff members only. In order to ensure safety of students, we ask that you please refrain from parking in this lot. (4) Please do not sent any nut products to school, for snack or lunch, as we strive to be a nut-safe environment.

We encourage all families to take some time to review the code of conduct, dress code and technology agreements as outlined in the Parkview Start-up Package.

A gentle reminder to any families that will be transferring to the French Immersion program to please notify the office, via email, as soon as possible. Thank you.

The Annual Parkview BBQ Fun Fair will take place on Thursday, June 6th, 2019 from 3:15 pm to 6 pm. Everyone is welcome to be part of the Parkview BBQ committee. The next meeting to plan the Parkview BBQ Fun Fair will take place at Parkview Public School on Tuesday, April 23rd @ 1:30 pm. Please sign in at the office before heading down to the meeting. To support the transition to High School, Ms. McGuire will be available, by appointment only, on Day 5s from 8:30am – 9:10am. Please contact the office to book an appointment.
