Welcome back to another exciting year at Parkview PS! We hope that all our families had a restful summer break. The Parkview staff have been working hard to prepare for the school year and are looking forward to continuing the learning journey together.
Here are a few reminders as we begin a new school year:
- The first day of school is on Tuesday, September 3rd. On the first day of school, we ask that all students proceed to the yard and look for their grade sign. There will be staff members around to support our students and assist them to find their new class. Thank you in advance for your support and patience throughout this process.
- Our instructional day begins at 8:30am. Students will be invited into the building at 8:25am and are expected to be ready to learn promptly by 8:30am. We hope that families will work on creating a morning routine that follow these timelines so students are ready to actively participate when the instructional day begins. Teacher supervision on the property will begin at 8:15am. Please do not drop off your child/children prior to this time as they will not be supervised. Any students entering the building after the 8:30am will be required to get a late slip in the office.
- Start-up packages and a Book of Forms will be sent home on the first day of school. All students will receive a Start-up Package and a Book of Forms on the first day of school to take home. Within the Start-up Package you will find an abundance of pertinent information about the school. Please take the time to carefully read through the package. The Book of Forms contains important forms that must be filled out for each child attending Parkview PS. Please fill out each form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Friday, September 6th.
- Running Free Re-Use Shoe Program. This Fall, Parkview’s School Council will be collecting unwanted used kid and adult running shoes, as part of our school-wide effort to reduce, re-use and recycle. We will donate the used running shoes to the Running Free Re-Use Shoe Program. Collection dates will be announced shortly. Please stay tuned for more information about this initiative!
