Parkview Happenings

Monday is a PA Day. There is no school for your children. We look forward to welcoming back our Panthers on Tuesday morning.

In order to comply with the Ministry of Education’s Class Size Compliance requirements, some of our Primary and Junior classes have been re-organized in order to meet requirements of the maximum class size allowed. We have been faced with the need to re-organize our classes as follows:

Rest assured that in all of our classrooms, our teachers differentiate the instruction, assessment, and expectations based on each student’s individual strengths, needs and interests.   Our students will be transitioning to their new classes Tuesday morning.  We are excited to be able to add a new classroom to our organization.  At this time, we would like to welcome Kelly Mo to our teaching staff!

Morning supervision doesn’t begins until at 8:15am.  Please remember that students should not be arriving prior to this time.

Come join us for Parkview’s Meet and Greet Evening which will take place on Thursday, October 10th, 2019.  Come visit classrooms, meet our teachers, and learn about your child’s experience at school. Teachers will be available to meet between 6:30-7:30pm. The BOOK FAIR will be available in the library. More details about this evening will follow.

On September 16th, 2019 Parkview held School Council Elections. Please join us in congratulating the following Executive Council members for the 2019- 2020 School Year:   Chair: Anoosh Sharif Vice Chair:  Flora Ho Treasurer: Henna Alvi Secretary: Bin Liu   We look forward to working together in order to support student achievement and wellbeing.

Please welcome Phillip Spalierno, the new Guidance, Transitions, & Pathways Itinerant Teacher for Parkview Public School. As an itinerant teacher, he will be working with five schools in the neighborhood and will be at Parkview every Day 3.

His role is to:

  • help facilitate the transition from elementary to secondary school
  • facilitate the exploration of pathways options with students and parents
  • engage students in learning experiences that provide exposure to different role models and positive examples of a diversity of careers
  • encourage high expectations for ALL students
