Parkview Happenings

Beginning Monday, November 11th until Monday, November 18th Parkview will be participating in the Bag2School Used Clothing Collection Fundraiser again. Please consider donating unwanted men’s, women’s and children’s clothing items as well as footwear, outwear, hats, mittens, scarves, towels, linens, belts, purses, handbags, soft bags and backpacks to help keep them out of the landfill while raising money for our school. Items can be brought into Parkview in any bag, box or bin you have at home. The more items we collect, the more money we raise!

This is just a reminder that Parkview’s School Council meeting will be held on Monday, November 4th in the Parkview Public School Library.  The meeting will start at 7:00 and end at 8:30.  Everyone is welcome!

If you have any questions about this process, please contact our main office.

This month, students are encouraged to Rethink their actions before disposing of an item.  That is, stop and consider the impact every disposal action will have on the environment and the world around us.  It is important to be well-informed about what goes in the Blue Box for recycling, the Green Bin for composting, the garbage bin for landfill.  Putting items in the Blue Box or Green Bin that shouldn’t be there can ruin an entire batch of recyclable and compostable material that will end up in landfill.  To help your child recycle right, please refer to the York Region Bindicator tool at www.york.ca for standard Blue Box and Green Bin materials.

Please note that November 15th is a PA Day for all students.  There will be no school on this day.

Thank you to all our families for supporting our We Scare Hunger Food Drive- all food will be donated to the local food bank.

Picture retake day is November 21st.
