Staffing update:  It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye, congratulations and good luck to Ms. McAllister.  Ms. McAllister has accepted a position at Lake Wilcox Public School for the New Year. Her last day will be December 20th, 2019. Ms. McAllister has been an integral part of Parkview Public School and she will be missed by our students, staff and community members. We would also like to extend a warm welcome and congratulations to Ms. Janakan who will be joining our Parkview Community in the role of EOAA. Ms. Janakan currently works at Buttonville P.S and will be joining Parkview in the New Year.

SAVE the DATE:  Kindergarten Registration for the 2020/2021 school year starts on January 17th, 2020.

The Grade 7s are going to Lake St George!   They will be leaving around lunchtime on Wednesday, December 11th (they will continue to follow regular schedule until departure) and return before the end of the day on Friday, December 13th.  What an exciting experience!

School bus service may be cancelled due to severe weather, extreme temperatures and/or poor road conditions. In these cases, parents and students should develop alternate care / transportation arrangements. A bus cancellation message will be available at School Bus City, by calling 1-877-330-3001, or by following @YRDSB on Twitter. On an inclement weather day when buses are cancelled, the delivery of school lunches (Pizza, Pasta and Subs) will be cancelled and rescheduled for another day. Students will need to bring a lunch on those days.

The holidays are coming!  YRDSB’s Winter Holiday begins Monday, December 23rd and continues for two weeks.  School will resume on January 6th, 2020.

Please remember to send your child to school every day with appropriate winter clothing for outdoor play. Students spend approximately 60 minutes a day outside. Please label all items with your child’s name on it. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation! For students to stay warm, they can wear a: winter jacket / hat / mitts / boots, neck warmer or scarf and snow pants.
