IMPORTANT NOTICE: Schools Closed to Students due to ETFO Strike

For Monday, January 20, all elementary schools are closed to students for the day. Independent childcare programs in schools are expected to continue – please confirm with your provider.  School will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, and students are expected to return to their regular schedule for the day. Please continue to monitor media, www.yrdsb.ca or Twitter: @YRDSB for up to date information.

Reminder, all extra-curricular activities and field trips are cancelled.  As you know from previous communications, changes to work-to-rule strike sanctions by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) were announced. These sanctions are a result of the bargaining process at the provincial level, and Board employees are required to follow the direction of their provincial federations.  Although at this time these sanctions are not affecting classroom instruction, they are affecting our ability to support and accommodate extra-curricular activities, field trips and some events.
