One of the priorities in the Trustees’ Multi-Year Strategic Plan is to Foster Well-Being and Mental Health in both our students and our staff members, with the ultimate goal of improving student success. As part of this plan, we are continuing to develop resources to help support parents/ guardians and families understand and support their child’s mental health and well-being. We have created a monthly mental health newsletter for parents/guardian and families. Each month will focus on a theme or topic. December’s newsletter includes helpful information to help parents and guardians navigate the time over the winter break in a low stress way. In addition, we have included information in the December edition about the newly released Student Suicide Intervention Protocol which was also communicated with parents in October. Along with the newsletters, we are also including helpful tip sheets for parents on a variety of topics such as communication, relationships, and substance misuse. The newsletters can be found on the Board website.
