September 12th -16th

It was great to welcome our Parkview Panthers back to school last week!  We were so happy to see our students smiling and excited to be back at school. The health and safety of our students, staff and families will continue to remain a priority as we return to a more normalized learning experience. We will continue to follow the direction of Public Health. Keeping Parkview safe is a shared responsibility between home and school, therefore we ask that you continue to screen your child daily prior to sending them to school

If your child is unwell please keep them at home and follow the screening tool. Please continue to speak to your child about the importance of hand hygiene.

Arrival Information::  Please ensure that your child does not arrive at school prior to 8:15am, this is to ensure your child’s safety. There is NO supervision before 8:15am. When you arrive at 8:15am we ask that you drop your child to their designated area (primary door, junior door, intermediate door, kindergarten pen) at 8:15am and say goodbye in order to avoid crowding. If you would like to wait to see your child enter the building please remain at a safe distance so students are able to line up with their classmates, hand sanitize and enter the school in a safe manner.

Dismissal Information::  Please ensure that you pick up your child promptly at 3pm. Please ensure that your child’s teacher has up to date dismissal information for your child.

Bus Information:  If your child takes a bus to school, it is important that they take the bus they are assigned to. Students may NOT switch buses, if you have a concern please email the school at and call Student Transportation Services at 1.877.330.3001. We are currently working with the bus company to ensure that students are placed on the correct bus. We will be redistributing bus tags next week. Please ensure your child keeps this tag on their knapsack all year.

Please ensure that you arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early to pick up your child. Please review bus expectations with your child:

-Remain seated

-Talk using quiet voices

-No eating on the bus

Emergency Contact Information:  We require updated contact information for each child at Parkview P.S.  Parents must provide accurate and up-to-date emergency contact information to the main office as soon as possible, including individuals authorized to pick up your child from school.  Index cards will be sent home for review, please ensure the information you provide is accurate.

Emergency Contact Information:  If your child has a serious condition such as asthma or a life threatening allergy (peanut, bee sting etc.) it is very important that parents/guardians keep the school informed of current medical needs and complete the required paperwork. We have a number of students who have a life threatening allergy to peanuts, tree nuts, peanut/nuts products, fish, and shellfish. Therefore, we request that our families refrain from sending any food with peanut or nut products to school. Any student medications will be stored in the office. Students may not carry medication with them. Students who require an epi-pen must carry this at all times.

Lunch:  Please email the school at if your child will be  going home for lunch this year. If your child is staying at school for lunch please send a lunch, snack and utensils with your child in the morning. Please do not send glass containers. No food with nut products should be sent to school since we have many children with life threatening nut allergies. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Indoor Shoes:  Please send indoor runners labelled with your child’s name. For primary students please send velcro runners.

Bus Loop & Parking: When dropping your child to school, please drive SLOWLY. Do NOT overpass cars/buses in the bus loop. Please pull up to the front and remain patient. Do NOT park in the staff parking lot. Please review the map below in order to park on designated city streets:

Equity & Inclusivity: At Parkview we continue to committed to Equity and Inclusivity. Over the years we have invested in many diverse texts written by diverse authors. It is important that equity work continues in partnership with home and school so our children are raised to be responsible global citizens. We want our students to think critically and to stand up in order to make the world a better place for all. Here are some excellent resources that we have shared over the years with our Parkview families:
