Parent Teacher Interviews and Progress Report Cards (Reminder): Interviews will take place the evening of November 17th and the morning of November 18th. Registration for interview times through Edsby is still open. Please book a time as soon as possible. If you experience any issues securing an interview time, please connect first with your child’s homeroom teacher. Progress Report Cards will be distributed electronically November 23rd – 25th, 2022.
Food Drive: We would like to give sincere thanks to all the families who donated items to this year’s food drive! The food collected will go a long way in helping families in need. We are presently in the process of organizing and transporting the food items to Markham Food Bank. Great job Parkview community!
Hindu Heritage Month: On December 8, 2016, the province of Ontario designated November as Hindu Heritage Month as outlined in the Hindu Heritage Month Act.
“By proclaiming the month of November as Hindu Heritage Month, the Province of Ontario recognizes the important contributions that Hindu Canadians have made to Ontario’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric. Hindu Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about Hindu Canadians and the important role that they have played and continue to play in communities across Ontario.” – Hindu Heritage Month Act, 2016.

Youth School Success Initiative: Youth School Success Initiative (YSSI) is an ethno-specific collaborative made up of 7 York and Toronto-based agencies working together to empower the educational and holistic success of black youth in York and Toronto regions. The goal of this program is to support York Region and Toronto District School Board Black youth in grades 6-8 toward high school preparedness. Tutoring Supports Through Community Partners: As a part of the Province’s efforts to support learning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, additional funding has been allocated for the first term of the 2022-23 school year (ending on December 15, 2022) for Tutoring Support Programs. General information for during and outside the school day supports for students can be found on the public site entitled Tutoring and Supports for Students. Additionally, specific information for tutoring programs outside the school day can be found on the Tutoring Support Programs Through Community Partners site. With the deadline fast approaching, funds and spaces at the various community partner organizations are limited.
