We hope our Parkview community was able to enjoy the long weekend with family and friends. Last week our Grade 8 students returned from their overnight trip at Camp Muskoka! By all accounts, students had a great time enjoying the outdoors with their classmates. Thank you to the teachers who took their personal time to chaperone our students. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser this past Friday! Students and staff exercised to raise funds for heart disease and stroke research. Thank you to Parkview families who contributed to this worthwhile cause.
There will be a number of events happening at Parkview this week. On Tuesday, our Grade 1 students are off to Camp Green Acres for an exciting outdoor educational experience. Please remember to pack a lunch for your child if they are attending a field trip, hot lunches will be distributed at the end of the day. Also on Tuesday, Grade 8 students will continue preparations for High School by visiting Unionville High School. Wednesday, all students will be learning about environmental issues and conservation when Earth Rangers visit Parkview. This Thursday there will be a Welcome to Kindergarten presentation for families of kindergarten students attending Parkview in September of 2023. On Friday, there will be an immunization clinic for our Grade 7 & 8 students
Next week our grade 6 students will be participating in EQAO. Students have had an opportunity to explore the sample test in their classrooms.
As we plan for the next school year, it is important that you inform the office via email at parkview.ps@yrdsb.ca if you are moving or if your child will be attending another school.
We will also be hosting a Volunteer Tea on June 15th. More information will follow via email tomorrow.
A reminder to families that students should not be bringing toys, loot bags, cards or outdoor equipment to school. At the end of the day, students are dismissed home, if your child is making plans with friends this should be done once they arrive safely at home with parental permission. Thank you for your support with this which will help ensure student safety.

Every Student Counts Survey for K to 3 Families:
Dear Families,
The Every Student Counts Survey was scheduled to close on Friday, May 19, 2023. In order to ensure families have enough time to complete the survey, we are extending the deadline for the Kindergarten – Grade 3 survey until June 23, 2023.
During the week of June 5, families of students in Kindergarten – Grade 3 will receive another invitation letter to complete the survey. If you have already completed the survey, or do not wish to complete the survey, please disregard the invitation letter.
Participating in the Every Student Counts Survey is a unique opportunity for you, as families, to voice your child’s experiences. Your input is crucial in helping us understand the diverse needs, strengths, and goals of our student community.
The information you provide will guide us in making informed decisions about programming, supports, and resources, ultimately benefiting your child’s learning experience. By participating, you are directly contributing to the improvement of our schools and student success.
We appreciate your time and effort in helping us make Parkview a better place for all students!
